Data Protection

The Max Weber Stiftung (MWS) [Max Weber Foundation] takes the protection of personal data seriously. Please inform yourself below about data protection on our website.

This Data Privacy Statement relates to the domain www.corpus-musicae-ottomanicae.de.

Personal Data

Personal data is information that can be used to find out your identity. This includes information such as your name, address, postal address, telephone number and email address, but also your computer's IP address when you access our websites. Information not linked to your identity (e.g. the number of users of the site) is not included therein.

Personal data is collected on our websites, and stored, only to the extent technically necessary.

IP Address

To access our websites, you will need to register your IP address. An IP address is a unique, globally valid identifier of your computer. As a private user, you will normally not use a non-changing IP address, as your provider will allocate a temporary IP address to you. Nevertheless, it is, in principle, possible to uniquely allocate user data via this attribute. Our web servers store the access time, the (full) IP address, the path or website accessed and the browser agent to enable attacks on our website to be analysed and, if possible, averted. The maximum storage period is 15 days. Data that we allocate to an attack is stored by us as long as necessary.

Statistical Analysis With Matomo

This website uses Matomo, a web analytics open-source software for visitors’ access. The IP-address will be anonymized immediately after processing and prior to its storage. Tracking cookies will not be used.

Contact

When the user contacts us by email, the user's details will be stored for the purpose of processing the enquiry and in case of follow-up questions.

Transmission of Data

Your personal data will be transmitted to state institutions and public authorities only in cases where this is necessary according to the law or for criminal prosecution purposes owing to attacks on our network infrastructure. Your personal data will not be passed on to third parties for purposes other than those described above.

Your Rights

Right to disclosure

You have the right to request at any time information on your data stored, the origin and recipients of your data and the purpose for which your data is being stored. Information on the data stored is provided by the data protection officer of the Max Weber Stiftung.

Correction

You have the right to have incorrect personal data corrected. If the MWS has doubts about the accuracy of such correction, it will be entitled to refrain from carrying out the correction until the facts of the matter have been cleared up.

Erasure

You have the right to have personal data erased. The MWS will not erase the data if it is legally obliged to store the data. If the MWS has doubts about the legitimacy of an erasure instruction, it will be entitled to refrain from carrying out the erasure until the facts of the matter have been cleared up.

Right to restriction of the processing

You have the right to have the processing restricted in cases where you call into question the accuracy of the data (until the issue has been cleared up), the processing is unlawful, you still need the data for the assertion of legal claims (after the purpose for which the data was being processed has ceased to exist), or you opt out in accordance with Article 21 GDPR. This will not apply if the MWS's reasons for the processing are compelling and worthy of protection.

Right to data portability

You have the right to receive in machine-readable format your data stored by us. As formats, we offer the txt format (UTF-8 or ANSI) and pdf.

Revocation of consent

You have the right to revoke your consent at any time. Revocation takes effect in the same way as the consent or by sending an email to the data protection officer (see below), explaining which consent you are withdrawing. Any data processing undertaken prior to the revocation of consent will remain lawful.
